First off - yes this is a top notch show. But does it benefit from the matrix treatment? In my opinion it doesn't. I find the crowd noises too distracting and I think much of the high end subtlety is lost. Case in point - compare El Paso on the matrix and soundboard versions - Bob's rhythm and some pretty neat drum work are all but gone, totally obscured by dimwit babbling and offbeat clapping. On Deal the interplay between the band members is muddied and all but lost. On Franklin Phil and the drummers sound flat and lifeless - and really that's not the way they are at all.

So definitely a great show, definitely well worth a listen, but definitely I'll be sticking with my soundboard recording.
